Abstract: This case study provides information on Kenyas Lake Turkana Wind Power Project, Africas largest wind farm. Included in the case study is an overview of the project, the low emission development strategies (LEDS) in Kenya, information on the project planning, development and financing. Also included is information on how the project mitigated negative environmental and social impacts, as well as information on project benefits and lessons learned. The Lake Turkana Wind Power Project will increase Kenyas national electricity supply while creating jobs and reducing greenhouse gas emissions.
