Abstract: Climate change and climate variability pose major threats to the environment, economic growth and sustainable development. The negative effects from Climate Change experienced in Kenya include reduced agricultural production, food insecurity, increased incidences of flooding and droughts, widespread disease epidemics, and increased risk of conflict over scarce land and water resources. These impacts of climate change are further compounded by local environmental degradation caused by illegal encroachments, deforestation and unsustainable livestock grazing. Climate Change affects various sectors in Kenya differently, with the most vulnerable being agriculture, livestock, water, health, fisheries and tourism.
