Abstract: This issue of Resilient Africa focuses on AWF?s holistic approach to conservation, which integrates both human development and environmental sustainability. It highlights the importance of local communities in Africa's conservation efforts, emphasizing that true success comes from balancing the needs of people with the preservation of wildlife and ecosystems. AWF?s partnerships with African governments, civil society, and local leaders aim to create sustainable livelihoods and promote climate-resilient practices that support both biodiversity and community welfare. The issue features several case studies, including AWF?s work in Rwanda and Uganda, showcasing how community-led conservation models can provide both ecological and economic benefits. By prioritizing local knowledge and fostering intergenerational leadership, AWF is working to build a future where both people and wildlife thrive.
