Abstract: The Green & Resilient UrbanShift Africa Forum, held in Nairobi in February 2025, convened over 250 African city leaders to advance sustainable urban development amid rising climate risks. Supported by C40 Cities, UNEP, and partners, the forum emphasized financing, urban resilience, and youth engagement. Mayors issued an open letter urging national governments to embed city priorities in budgets, improve municipal finance, and unlock public-private investment. A new Roadmap on Sustainable Finance for Global South cities was unveiled to help access funding for clean energy and transport. The event underscored Africa’s urban role in shaping climate-resilient, inclusive futures.
