Women and Gender Constituency
Abstract: This report profiles winners of the Gender Just Climate Solutions Awards presented at COP28, showcasing women-led initiatives that intersect climate resilience with gender equity. Organized around three categories?technical, non-technical, and transformational?projects span vertical farming, solar-powered cooling, community restoration, and policy advocacy. The publication features detailed case studies, including Kenyan groups such as Ento Farms (insect protein and waste valorization) and Paran Women Group (land rehabilitation and ecosystem education). Each entry includes thematic indicators, replication strategies, and measurable co-benefits in health, income, and biodiversity. The report emphasizes inclusive governance, community empowerment, and sustainable transitions led by grassroots actors. It offers recommendations for funders, policymakers, and networks to support gender-responsive climate solutions through capacity building, financing reforms, and participatory policy platforms. Visuals and impact summaries illustrate how climate justice principles can be operationalized at local scale.
