Abstract: This report by RES4Africa Foundation presents a comprehensive analysis of gender disparities in the energy sector, emphasizing the need for a just and inclusive energy transition. It explores five key dimensions?energy access, education, employment, entrepreneurship, and policy environment?where women remain underrepresented. Drawing on surveys, interviews, and desk research across North Africa, it highlights systemic barriers such as limited access to finance, lack of mentorship, and gender-blind policies. The report calls for gender-responsive budgeting, inclusive STEM education, and targeted support for women-led energy enterprises. It also showcases successful initiatives in Morocco, including solar cooperatives and national strategies integrating gender equality.
