Abstract: This paper explores how Africa?s energy transition risks triggering a green resource curse?where rising demand for minerals leads to conflict and environmental harm. Analyzing laws from 48 countries, it identifies strengths and gaps in land rights, benefit sharing, access to justice, and participation. Customary tenure recognition and safeguards are praised but implementation remains weak. Recommendations include transparent governance, inclusive frameworks, and enforcement reforms. The study emphasizes legal preparedness to mitigate climate-related resource conflicts.
