Abstract: This policy brief summarizes discussions from a regional forum on climate-induced migration and human rights. It describes how extreme weather events, resource loss, and conflict are displacing communities and eroding socio-economic security. Four groups?youth, women, rural communities, and persons with disabilities?are identified as disproportionately affected. Violations include denial of basic services, limited representation, and disrupted education and livelihoods. The report references legal instruments such as the Kampala Declaration, the AU Climate Strategy, and the African Youth Declaration, calling for harmonized implementation and inclusive planning. It critiques lack of funding, weak data systems, and disjointed national responses, urging African governments to treat climate mobility as a governance priority. Recommendations center on participatory policy reform, capacity building, and expanded climate finance for displaced populations.
